EXPEDITION HIGHLIGHTS
November 2023: The Story of the Sand published in the Mail on Sunday.
17-19 May 2024: The team, sponsors and supporters to attend Walking With The Wounded's Cumbrian Challenge and be presented to the 600 plus in attendance (circa 150 plus corporate teams).
05 June 2024: Launch event at Chartwell, home of Winston Churchill with the support of the National Trust.
06 June 2024: Team will arrive on Juno Beach at 0715hrs by landing craft. Sand taken from Juno Beach in 1944 will be retuned 80 years on.
The team will visit memorials at Juno Beach and witness the official celebrations.
D-Day Lamp Lights of Peace to be lit by Challenge The Wild on the UK's four highest peaks, and by Expedition Team members on Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches.
07-10 June 2024: Hiking Phase - the Normandy Beaches.
11 June 2024: Expedition Dinner in London.

PHASE 1: Teams will land on Juno Beach at 0630hrs.
PHASE 2: The lighting of the Lamp Lights of Peace.
PHASE 3: Utah Beach Memorial to Isigny-sur-Mer (30km)
PHASE 4: Hike to St Laurent-sur-Mer, site of the Interlude Omaha Memorial (35km)
PHASE 5: Hike to Ver-sur-Mer, site of the British Normandy Memorial on Gold Beach (35km)
PHASE 6: Hike to Courseulles-sur-Mer, site of the Juno Beach Centre and Memorial (7km)
PHASE 7: Hike to the Kieffer Monument on Sword Beach (18km)
